Volunteer Needs
"My passion has been to share what I have learned along the way and hopefully make their journey a little easier." Chris Furneaux Lang
We invite you to come join us in our work. Please direct all inquires and questions to Chris@patientpaths.org. PATHS can use your time and talents in many different ways. Please note, PATHS has volunteer opportunities that are good for individuals working alone, groups (employees, student, civic or fraternal organizations) that want to work together, and people who want to work on something new to meet people while making a difference. We have opportunities for people with limited time on a relatively unscheduled basis for greater flexibility, and opportunities representing a greater commitment in terms of hours or structure and responsibility
- Research - we have on going need for people that can help us collect information both via a simple phone call and filling out a chart and via internet search. These can very easily be completed from the comfort of your home or office and only take an hour or two but is very valued help to us. Great job for Teens or Adults.
- High School / College Research - so we can be listed as a charity for students to fill their community service requirement.
- Corporate Coordinator - research and contact corporations that “give back to the community”.
- Community Theatre Coordinator - we have already been gifted with theatre seats to sell from 1 local group. We need to reach out to other groups and invite them to participate with each new production.
- Grant Research - easy to learn how to do in about 20 minutes, then you visit foundation web sites, fill out a chart to see if there is a match, and report your findings.
- Special Events - lots of fun things to do to organize each event. You will help raise awareness of PATHS and its services and help raise needed funds. If you enjoy putting on a party, then this may be the area to serve.
- PATHS Community Cookbook - we are collecting recipes from local community church members to create the “Heaven Sent” Cookbook.
- Meet the Author Afternoons - we are going to bring some of the newest and brightest New England Authors to share their stories and talents over a delightful Sunday Dessert Buffet. Events are scheduled for September 20, 2009, January 24, 2010, April 11, 2010, and September 19, 2010.
- Patient/Family Relations - simply be a friend to a patient and their family. Someone to touch base and listen is a valuable gift to one going through medical challenges.
- Public Relations Coordinator - help create a media list, learn to write a press release on PATHS activities & events, and distribute to local media.
- Volunteer Coordinator - looking for a very organized person to work closely with the Executive Director in coordinating all volunteers.
- Seminars -
looking for volunteers and trainers.
- Help to prepare and assemble materials, make phone calls to confirm dates, send emails, etc. Another pair of hands at either our site or from your home is always appreciated.
- Get trained to present advocacy training seminars to others. This would be a great job for retired medical staff, experienced family members who have served as advocates and former teachers.
